Upon the invitation of Ministry of Planning Development & Reforms, Mr. Memon in his capacity of the Chairman of PDF attended the above said conference which was graced by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Nawaz Sharif as the chief guest. The conference was attended about 1000 delegates comprising of experts leadership from all sector of life. Among others Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister presented address of Welcome by choosing Urdu especially as medium of expression. In addition to that the Finance Minister Mr. Ishaq Daar & president of Federation of Chamber of Commerce of Pakistan also expressed their views by highlighting the financial aspects, planning & development together with problems & requirements according to their respective positions. The inaugural ceremony was followed by group discussions the Chairman PDF in group discussion (Role of Federation after Devolution Era) explained the undesirable situation both at federal & provincial levels & lack of coordination due to ambiguities & misinterpretations by either sites. For future planning, he very much emphasizes the need of consultation & involvement of the disabled leadership & experts at the level of planning, secutariniaze, implementations & monitoring specially at the conclusion. Furthermore he demanded separate allocation & control of the budget & facilities for disabled community according to their size of population. To avoid the unjustified distribution in past the Prime Minister package should have the same provision for disabled community. He once again demanded for establishment of high powered Federal authority on disability issues with the effective presentation of disabled community.
During his visit Mr. Chairman under the PDF Islamabad visited the self-help employment supported by PDF in Bari Imam & Bara Kahu where blind members were running shops with the help of the family members. On the occasion together with Mr. Khalid Hussain Bhatti Chairman PDF Islamabad & Mr. Abdul Mannan announced the support from PDF Head Office to strengthen & promote their business.
