Report of two national courses on skills – And visit of PDF team to Faisalabad, Islamabad and Lahore

To fulfill one of the ful time agenda points that are training courses, the PDF organized two national courses of two weeks each in collaboration of Al minar centre of the blind of Pakistan Alliance Faisalabad on skills like mobility, abacus and low vision and mathematic through Perkins. 25 participants from even remote part of the country like Kohlu, Kashmir, Abbotabad, Quetta, Bhawal Nagar, Bhawal Pur, Sargodha, Jhung and Multan actively participated and successfully completed.

The courses were inaugurated amongst others Dr. Fehmida Hameed Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab. While concluding ceremony was graced by amongst others the Director General of Social Welfare Govt. of Punjab who distributed certificates amongst the participants of courses while PDF C Mr. Chief Mr. Memo and General Secretary of Al Minar Haji Maqsood distributed the awards, gifts and white cane amongst the participants and worker.

The team of PDF comprising of Chairman Mr. Memon, Vice Chairperson Miss Shakila, and Instructors of the courses Mr. Jawed Akhter and Mr. Safder Hyath and volunteer were there to organize and supervise the courses.

The Chairman and Vice Chairperson of PDF continued their program to attend different meetings in Islamabad with the Federal Authorities of NADRA, Special Education, Railway and CADD and to organize one day seminar on “requirement and problems of disabled persons after 18th amendment”. The seminar was graced by expressing their views from the representatives of local organization and from Dear Ghazi Khan, Abbotabad, Batagram, Sargodha. The Senior Joint Secretary Mr. Lateef Laghari nominated by the Minister of Capital Administrative and Development Division Mr. Nazar Muhammad Goondal, express his views. Prof. Rafique Tahir Joint Secretary Education and Establishment graced the occasion as the Honoured Guest and express his views on inclusive education and role of Federal Directorate of Education, Mr. Rana Saeed Deputy Director of NCRDP while responding the various questions and commends, brief the situation of NCRDP and existing role.

On way back to Karachi the PDF delegation visited Lahore and joints the meeting of Department of Special Education University of Punjab where PDF chief Mr. Memon delivered the lecture to the students of final year and responded the questionsn which was supplemented by Miss Shakila Yasmin vice Chair and technology incharge of PDF. The delegation also met with the Secretary Ministry of Special Education Govt. of Punjab Mr. Abdullah Sumbul and discusses various issues with special reference to the modern age technology and arrangement of low cost equipment. On this occasion delegation also visited the Braille Press of Punjab government. Later on the invitation of Dr. Abdul Hameed Chaudri Din faculty of Education University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore, and had a meeting over there. On this occasion Chairman PDF was presented by the Souvenir shield of UMT.
