ALHAMDULILLAH like previous years on 15th October a national conference was held under Pakistan Disabled Foundation in Karachi prior to said conference the participants from all over the country lounged demonstration regarding white cane day and the demands of the disabled community in front of press club Karachi which was largely attended by the media representative and dedicates from all over the country.

The national conference was inaugurated by the nominated SP Mr. Ahmed of the DIG traffic which was largely participated by the national delegates from Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Mirpur AJK, KPK, Punja, Baluchistan and of course Sindh. The chairman of the PDF Mr. Shahid Memon highlighted the importance of the observance of the day by describing the needs and problems with special reference to the mobility traffic and transport. The well-known international social worker from south Africa Mr. Hassan Murchie also grace the inaugural ceremony by his valuable expression through online call. The traffic chief of the district assured the maximum possible facilitation with regards to the traffic and transportation. He also distributed the white canes, tricycles and winter blankets amongst the representatives from different parts of the country. The specially written poem by a blind poet on white cane was also sung on the occasion, the first business session which was presided over by the prof. Ilyas Ayub from AKAB AJK was grace by Director Bashrat ullah from Gilgit Special Education Complex, Director Madam Rubina Baluchistan Disabled Complex Quetta, Dr. Shahida Hassan from Malir University Karachi and Ex-Director Special Education Islamabad Abdul Manan expressed their experience based views.

The second business session presided over by the Chairman PDF, was grace by the Dr. Humera Iqbal from Karachi University, Mr. Gulam Mustufa from Faisalabad, Mr. Rafi Memon of Vislwes School for Slow Learne , Prof. Urooj Fatima from BRFP, Dr. Saira of Karachi University, Allah Dino Dehraj from Nowshero Feroze and Mr. Shahdat Ali from Karachi.

The 3rd session presided over by the Mr. Basharat ullah Director Special Education Complex Gilgit while Mr. Nizamani Director of Empowerment of Person with Disabilities grace the occasion by his valuable expression. Mr. Aman Pir also grace the session as the honored guest and expressed his views on the occasion he also distributed the white canes, blankets and tricycles amongst the representative of the deserving disabled person from different part of the country. Mr. Mohammad Ali DSP Karachi Police also grace the occasion and express his views regarding the problems and requirements of the disabled community. Mr. Waqar President BRFP Karachi express his views on the importance of technology in modern age education of the blind while Mr. Shakeel from BRFP highlighted the importance of IT and role of talking software in daily life activities of the disable community. The concluding ceremony was held at 5:30 pm which was graced by the Honorable Administrator of KMC Mr. Iftikhar Shilwani as the Chief Guest. Mr. Memon Chairman of the PDF in his welcome address to Mr. Shilwani, highlighted the valuable support of transportation, accommodation and grant to the Pakistan disabled foundation by the KMC during previous years. The chief guest in his expression highly appreciated the country wide participation in the national conference together with the commendable contribution of Pakistan disabled foundation his also assured to continue the support of KMC to promote the noble services of Pakistan disabled foundation in future as well. His also distributed white canes , blankets and tricycles, especially from the representative from Batagram, KPK, AJK, Jaffarabad, Quetta, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Sadiqabad, Faisalabad, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Badin, Mirpur Khas, etc. Prof. Shakila Yasmin served the as the chief coordinator and facilitator of the national conference.
