Alhamdulillah, many of you might be aware that for the last several years, during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, Pakistan Disabled Foundation has been providing supportive packages of ration and clothing to extremely deserving families of disabled community attached with Pakistan Disabled Foundation in different parts of the country. During last 2 years despite Covid-19 problems Al-Hamdolillah PDF management succeeded in providing Ramadan package well in time to the approximately nine hundred (900) families comprising of five thousand (5000) family members respectively in 29 and 31 cities respectively.

This year we have once again planned to distribute package, starting from the 10th of March 2022. The PDF management arranges distribution prior to the commencement of Ramadan – preferably in the second week of Shabaan – under the supervision of office bearers and focal persons to maintain transparency to the maximum possible extent. The package is provided immediately prior to Ramadan to facilitate the beneficiaries and avoid difficulties during the month of Ramzan. Payment for the clothing is mostly made after receiving the donations including zakat, maximum by the fifteenth (15) of Shawaal, however payment to shopkeepers for ration packets in different cities on the spot is made prior to the start of Ramadan to get the ration stuff for immediate distribution.

Apart from above described special package of Ramadan, Pakistan Disabled Foundation (PDF) is engaged throughout the year in following countrywide regular activities. Detail of the same can be acquired by visiting our website www.pdf.org.pk.

1. Skills Training academy for disabled children and women where training, equipment, uniform and pick and drop is provided totally free of cost to the disabled children and women.
   
   
2. Arrangements of skills training courses and capacity building workshops on different skills including information technology and mobile applications and facilitation requirements regarding daily life responsibilities.
   
   
3. Support for wedding ceremonies of deserving disabled youths and children of the deserving disabled families.
4. Support for small business self-employment Cabin, Vending stall like popcorn and French fries machine.
   
   
5. Arrangements of annual occasions like Seerat-un-Nabi, International Day of Disabled Persons, World Braille Day, White Cane Safety Day, Youm-e-Bader, Pakistan Day, Independence Day, Human Rights Day, and Volunteer Day to integrate the disabled community in the society as the equal partner.
   
   
6. Monthly Ration scheme for 80 deserving disabled families costing more than (Three Lacs fifty thousand) Rs. 350,000/- approximately per month.
7. Support of White Canes, Tricycles, Wheel chairs, Hearing aids, Braille Writing Slates and other equipment required for training, education, rehabilitation, socialization and collective facilitation like Printing of Holy Quran and other books in Braille.
   
   
8. Scholarships and monthly aid to the adversely affected and extremely deserving disabled beneficiaries.
   
   
9. Advocacy and counselling efforts with the Federal and provisional authorities together with private sectors to ensure provision of admissive rights and facilities for disabled personnel.
