National Convention of Disabled Women together with Observance of White Cane Safety Day under Pakistan Disabled Foundation 10th to 12th October 2023 At University of Lahore

The sixth National convention of women with disabilities started from 10th October 2023 at University of Lahore with the participants from all over the Pakistan like; Karachi, interior Sindh, upper and lower Punjab especially from rural areas, KPK, Hungu etc. After the registration of the participants in the inaugural ceremony the Rector of University of Lahore, Madam Saima Erum from Pakistan Railway, DG social welfare Mr. Irfan Gaundal, and representative of Department of Special Education Punjab graced the event. The chairman Pakistan Disabled Foundation Mr. Shahid Ahmed Memon present the keynote address after that the DG social welfare Mr. Irfan Gaundal provided a deep knowledge regarding the facilities for person with disabilities in Punjab.

The chief guest Rector of University of Lahore appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Disabled Foundation and admired the participation of women with disabilities from all over Pakistan. Madam Saima Erum from Pakistan Railway presided the ceremony and insure to the participants that they will assure more accommodation and facilitation in the Railway services.

Moreover, in different business sessions guest speakers Dr. Saira Saleem from university of Karachi Mr. Talal, Dr. Shagufta, Dr. Humera Aziz from University of Karachi, Madam Shahla Yousuf, Madam Shakila Yasmeen, Madam. Ester Jane vice principal Special Education Complex Karachi, Mrs. Aliya Arshad, other women with disabilities from various NGOs and young participants share their valuable views throughout the two days of convention.

The third day was the observance of White cane safety day and open for male and female countrywide representatives of different NGOs from Abbottabad, Kashmir, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi etc. All representatives expressed their views and highlight the issues of local, provincial and national level of blind individuals in particular and the individual with disabilities in general.
