Under the banner of the Pakistan Disabled Foundation, Youm-e-Furqan (17th Ramadan) was observed with great religious enthusiasm and devotion. In this regard, a ceremony was held at a local hall, attended by a large number of distinguished citizens along with persons with disabilities.
In the first session of the program, Mr. Faisal Sadiq, Branch Manager of Soneri Bank, interacted briefly with persons with disabilities. He listened to their banking-related concerns and assured them that he would not hesitate to forward their recommendations to the State Bank.
In the second part of the program, the Chairman of PDF, Mr. Shahid Ahmed Memon, highlighted the purpose and significance of the event and recited the following couplet:
“If a disbeliever relies on the sword,
A true believer fights even without one.”
He further stated that if a person is determined to achieve something, nothing can stand in their way. Youm-e-Furqan conveys this very message.
Addressing the ceremony, Professor Uzra Begum of Army Public College shed light on the significance and objectives of the Battle of Badr. She conveyed that if the same spirit and passion are revived today, there is no reason why a smaller group cannot overcome a stronger opponent.
The event was attended by prominent personalities including columnist of Daily Ummat and editor of Monthly Ghazi, Mr. Muhammad Yaqoob Ghaznavi; renowned poet Anjum Javed; Ahmed Javed from Bazm-e-Javedan; as well as Rafi Memon, Dr. Saira Saleem, Professor Shehla Yousuf, Naat reciter Urooj Habib, broadcasters Saira Salman, Uzma Kamal, and Iffat Kaleem.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Professor Uzra Begum offered prayers for the prosperity and progress of the Muslim Ummah, especially Pakistan.
Vice Chairperson Shakeela Yasmeen expressed gratitude to all the guests, while the event was hosted by Syeda Seema.
