Course: Self Dependent
April 2025 — July 2025

Alhumdulliah, Pakistan Disabled Foundation (PDF), is working to uplift the status of differentially abled citizens of Pakistan across the country since 1998. Keeping in mind the above said objective, a course named “Self Dependent” was planned and executed successfully during April 2025 — July 2025. It was conducted by Miss Asiya Ishtiaq.

Initially, 15 participants joined this course from different parts of the country, and two participants from India. Majority of participants achieved the standard levels of Self-Grooming, Personal Grooming, Domestic Training, Cooking, Mobility and Orientation, use of Android Technology, Ethics and Counselling. The course coordinator was Mohammad Faisal for use of Android Technology. Mr. Faisal also managed and worked hard on many aspects of this course throughout its duration. The course was monitored by Miss Shakela Yasmin, Vice Chairperson of Pakistan Disabled Foundation, to keep the due standards up to the mark.

The opening ceremony was held on 17th April 2025, at the office of Pakistan Disabled Foundation under the Chairmanship of   Mr. Shahid Ahmed Memon, who presided over the ceremony. It was followed by lunch. The first class was also conducted on the same day. On completion of the course, all the participants were awarded certificates by PDF during “Independence Day Celebrations” at Three Days Marka-e-Haq National Conference (12th — 14th Aug 2025). Syeda Seema (Board Member of Pakistan Disabled Foundation), served as a facilitator/ resource person during each and every step with dedication and commitment. Miss Iram Naz focal person of PDF from Sialkot supported during the process of admission.

 Conclusion: It was concluded that courses on personality grooming of PWDs (Persons with disabilities) should be organized regularly to benefit the needy. Many positive impacts of this course have been observed on the lives of participants and their families. The parents who are facing challenges to groom the personalities of PWDs in their lives could be supported and facilitated in grooming practical lives, such as mobility, professional careers and marital lives.
