Two-Month Online HTML & CSS Training Course

Executive Summary

The Pakistan Disabled Foundation successfully concluded a specialized two-month online certificate course focused on HTML5 and CSS3. Led by Mr. Muhammad Shakeel and Mr. Salman Shafique, the program was designed to empower visually impaired individuals with technical skills in front-end web development.

While 14 students initially enrolled from across Pakistan, 10 students demonstrated exceptional dedication, completing all rigorous assignments and the final project to earn their professional certifications.

Course Curriculum Outline

The 24-class roadmap was divided into two core modules, focusing on semantic structure and accessible design.

Phase 1: HTML5 (Classes 1–12)

  • Introduction to Web Architecture: Understanding browsers, servers, and how the web works.
  • Semantic HTML: Mastery of structural tags (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>) to ensure compatibility with screen readers.
  • Text Formatting: Implementation of headings (<h1> to <h6>), paragraphs, and lists.
  • Hyperlinks & Media: Creating accessible links and integrating images with descriptive alt text.
  • Tables & Forms: Building complex data tables and interactive forms with proper labelling.

Phase 2: CSS3 (Classes 13–24)

  • CSS Fundamentals: Understanding selectors, properties, and values.
  • The Box Model: Managing margins, borders, padding, and content dimensions.
  • Color & Typography: Applying accessible color contrast and readable font styling.
  • Layout Techniques: Introduction to Flexbox and Grid for responsive design.
  • Final Project: Developing a fully accessible, multi-page personal portfolio website.

Conclusion

This course highlighted the potential for inclusive digital education in Pakistan. By mastering HTML and CSS, these graduates are now equipped to pursue further opportunities in software development, accessibility testing, and digital content creation. The Pakistan Disabled Foundation remains committed to bridging the digital divide for the differently abled community.
