Report on Survey Conducted by Pakistan Disabled Foundation

1. Introduction

Pakistan Disabled Foundation conducted a survey to assess the condition of flood-affected disabled individuals across Sindh, Balochistan, and South Punjab.

2. Survey Coverage

– Villages/Cities Visited: 07

– Houses/Sites Visited: 27

– Meetings with affected individuals conducted

3. Major Disabilities Identified

– Physical disabilities

– Visually impaired (blind/low vision)

– Multiple disabilities

4. Observations

Hunger, health, and poverty are major issues. Many families have multiple disabled members. Houses are partially damaged and made from weak materials like mud, bamboo, and palm leaves.

5. Support Provided

Cross cheques, ration, blankets, mosquito nets, and other essential items were distributed.

Observations: During visits
 meetings with disabled individual/ families, it is generally observed that:


1: There is more hunger/ health/ poverty issues then any sever disability.

2: Many of the visited disabled families, more than one person is suffering from one or multiple disabilities.
3: Most or part of the houses are partially affected.
4: In many villages, houses constructed with mud, bricks, tree trunks and palm leaves. 5: Most of roof were made up of bamboos and palm leaves.
6: It is also observed that three major factors caused the damage, of house structure such as:
•⁠ ⁠Weight of the rain water, collapsed flat roof of the house.
•⁠ ⁠Non-concrete floors, after rain and flood water, turns into uneven and thickly muddy harmful surface in and outside the houses and surrounding areas.
•⁠ ⁠The use of non- concrete or flexible membranes.


After having visit and survey as mentioned above cross cheques for construction and support in kind like Ration, Blankets , Mosquito net and otherwise were provided amongst deserving disabled persons .
