Al-Hamdolillah to grace the International Day of Disabled Persons (3rd December) together with International Volunteer Day (5 December), covering International Human Rights Day (10 December) , a National Conference was held at National Skills University Islamabad.
Inaugural Ceremony and rest of the Business sessions of first and second day of the conference were held at the Auditorium of National Skills University,. The final day of the conference comprising of remaining business session and concluding ceremony was held in Hotel Serena which was complementary sponsored as previous two years.
The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Lt. Gen. ® Dr. Asif Mumtaz Sukhera vice Chancellor Muhiuddin Islamic University, Prof. Dr. Wali Uddin Vice Chancellor Usman Institute of Science and Technology University Karachi, Dr. Akber Kundi Ex Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakria University, On the other, representatives of the disabled community from all over the country including Mirpur Azad Kashmir.
In addition to that representatives from different department of government like NADRA, Higher Education, Ignite, Pakistan Railways, Ministry of Information Technology were also join the conference meaningfully. The concluding ceremony especially focusing the Volunteer Day was graced by Special Secretary Ministry of Information Technology together with high profile volunteers like Dr. Humera Chairperson Department of Special Education Karachi University, Dr. Shaghufta Iqbal from Lahore, Dr. Akber Gardezi from Comsats University Islamabad, Mr. Shoaib Nizami Journalist from Islamabad,
Mr. Amir Sami CEO Tecnext Islamabad and others The Marketing Manager of Hotel Serena Mr.Faheem also grace the occasion and received shield of appreciation while other volunteers as mentioned above also awarded shield of recognition.
It is very much obvious from the multi-dimensional participation as mentioned above, the National Conference dealt with all the related issues including Urdu reading software as per well recognize socio economic status of the disabled community as per UN Charter on rights of People with disabilities and National Policy government of Pakistan 2002, and National Plan of Action government of Pakistan 2006.
The expected Chief Guest of Inaugural Ceremony Mr. Yousuf Raza Gilani chairman Senate because, of his foreign tour sent thought provoking and highly appreciating message on the occasion which is a part of the report.
