Three Days All Sindh Disabled Youth Seminar
13th to 15th February 2020
At Isra University, Hyderabad
ALHAMDULILLAH it has been another land mark to have the 8th seminar on disabled youth under Pakistan Disabled Foundation (PDF) in Isra University Hyderabad. Prior to that on 13th afternoon the participating delegates together with organizers of the seminar had a media briefing at press club Hyderabad which was followed by introductory session of the participants concluded at tea reception by the Hyderabad Welfare Association of the Blind. The management of the Isra University not only extended their cooperation by providing their venue and delicious lunch for all the participants but the senior most authority of the University Prof. Dr. Hameedullah pro Vice Chancellor of the University officially welcome the guest and participants from all over the Sindh in the Inaugural Ceremony on 14th February 2020. His patronize interest and physical participation during the whole session was really encouraging, inspiring and Honor for all the participants and disabled community as a whole. His presence and valuable expression was the key action towards the success of the seminar. Another important aspect of the seminar and Inaugural Ceremony was to have the commissioner of the Hyderabad Division as the Chief Guest who facilitates the seminar by extending his cooperation and valuable expression. The PDF Chief Mr. Shahid Ahmed Memon gave the Address of Welcome while Miss Shakila Yasmin introduced with the details of the seminar. On this occasion the Honorable Commissioner and very dignified Pro Vice Chancellor were awarded with souvenir from the PDF on the other Pro Vice on behalf of Management of University awarded souvenir shield to the office bearer of the Pakistan Disabled Foundation.
It was again matter of encouragement and pleasure that the delegation of Department of sports and Youth Affairs Sindh comprising of Deputy Secretary Mr. Junaid Rajpoot and assist. Director Mr. Habib join the first business session as the Honored Guest In his presidential remark the Deputy Secretary Mr. Junaid Rajpoot on behalf of Secretary sports and youth affairs express his commendable views about the capabilities and competency of the disabled community with special reference to the disabled youth and role of PDF towards the integrated programs and services encouraging the government departments to come forward and enhance their contribution and support for different activities. He and Mr. Habib also described the work carried out towards the promotion of disabled community by the department and assure further support in future.
It was also highly noted that Dr. Tufail Chandio from the Lar Campus of Sindh University Badin and Dr. Humairah Head of the department of Special Education University of Karachi as the speakers were knowledgeably there to help and encourage the disabled youth through their life time experience, knowledge and close contact with the PDF.
The Second business session comprised of senior youths who were promoted by the PDF through the mostly support of department of youth Affair Sindh and now engaged in different institutions and organization in an active position. Mr. Waqar Younus who was got trained in computer literacy with reference to special skills of the blind and other-wise through the program of PDF with the support of CIDARA Foundation of South Africa for seven years now running an organization together with job assignments the skills trained in different institution, joint the seminar as one of the modern youths and highly inspired the participants by his expression all about his full time activities in the field of visually impaired as a successful example. Mr. Imran Maroof who was selected by PDF for the inclusion in youth delegation visited Turkey on an official tour, now engaged in his professional activities also took part in the seminar and express his encouraging experiences to be followed by the youths to come. Another talented senior youth Abdul Wahab Khan a successful blind engaged as an employee in standard Chartered Bank was also selected by PDF to include in the official youth delegation of the department to visited Malaysia, also attended the seminar and describe all his expertise in the field of education, employment and sports as a blind cricketer. On this occasion most senior youth like Prof. Shakila Yasmin and Dr. Saira Saleem also grace the session by their valuable contribution regarding their training participation under the patronization of PDF. The session was presided over by the PDF Chief Mr. Shahid Memon.
The third and last session of the 14th February was devoted exclusively for the youth participants from all the participating organizations of Sindh. Dr. Shagufta Iqbal the guest facilitator from Quetta Baluchistan and Dr. Tufail Chandia of Lar Campus Sindh University serve the session as the co-chair. It was unanimously noted by the facilitators and experts on the occasion that the standard and quality of presentations of the youth representatives particularly from the interior of Sindh found fairly commendable as compared to previous seminars. Furthermore every youth was of the opinion that seminar really inspired him or her very much and needed to be arranged again and again by involving other youths as well.
The forth business session as the first business session on 15th February devoted for the views of the leading representatives of participating organization from all over the Sindh. The session was presided over by Dr. Bader Sami of Karachi University together with Co-Chairperson Dr. Saira Saleem while Chairman of PDF served as the facilitator and resource person. Mr. Shaban Manjo from Jacobabad, Hafiz Naseer Ahmed from Ghotki, Mr. Zuhaib Meerani from Shikarpur, Mr. Raza Sheikh and Hafiz Dur Muhammad from Khairpur, Mr. Allah dino Dehraj from Noshero Feroze, Allah Dino Peerzada from Hyderabad, Mr Asgher Murree from Mirpur Khas, Mr. Ikhteyar from Larkana, Mrs. Wajeha Javaid from Hyderabad were express their views.
The fifth business session was presided over by Dr. Shagufta Iqbal the focal person of PDF Baluchistan and Dr. Tufail Chandio jointly. In this session Dr. Bader Sami delivered his lecture by covering all his work experience and information by working with the PDF in IT Seminar and Youth Seminar since last five years which was really impressive and informative from the role of technology and it’s balanced and advisable used. The second speaker of the session Dr. Farhan Abdul Rauf medical consultant of Pakistan Disabled Foundation presented his life time experience based views from the medical point of view to be taken care by the youths particularly.
The sixth and final session was exclusively devoted for women with disabilities both youth and other-wise. The session was presided over by Dr. Humaira Iqbal Chairperson Department of Special Education University of Karachi and Dr. Shagufta Iqbal Jointly while Miss Shakila Yasmin of PDF served the session as the facilitator and resource person.
