Brief Report of the activities of Pakistan Disabled Foundation 2014-2015
With all the blessing of Al-Mighty Allah Al-Hamdolillah valuable cooperation of the well wishers like you , Al-Hamdullilah Pakistan Disabled Foundation (PDF), A part from the its regular activities including full time skills Training Academy for the Disabled Children and Women where all the Training Facilities including raw material, equipment, pick/ drop and entertainment are provided totally free of cost, the PDF started its noble services from the Holy month of Ramazan by arranging Rashan, clothing and cash support to approximately 350 families covering more then 2500 family members together with program on ISTAQBALE RAMDHAN on 29th Shabaan and program of Shuhada-e-Badar on 17th Ramzan to highlight the religious and moral values as guide lines to avail the spiritual and other wise benefit of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak
PDF has been actively engaged through out the year by providing and arranging advocacy, training and educational cources along with rehabilitation and integrated programs to promote the awareness and knowledge towards the achievement of determined goal.
Foundation continued to promote services by arranging the financial support for self employment including disabled women for domestic trade, Scholarships, Teaching Aids like Braille writing Slates, Air thematic slates, Perkins Brailler, Hearing Aids, white canes, wheal chairs, self threading needles, talking calculator and thermometer, Braille and talking watches, cassettes, and cassette reorder etc, to more then 3000 beneficiary all over the country.
The foundation has supported in cash and kind for 20 Weddings Ceremony of deserving Disabled persons and their children from different part of the country.
The following organization and institutions working for the disabled persons were provided support in cash and kind upon their request to generate the services further more. Pakistan Alliance of the Blind Faisalabad, PAB Faisalabad, PAB Jhung, Light House School for the Blind Abbottabad, Khidmat-e-Adam Welfare Society Abbottabad, PAB Bhawalpur/Al-Noor Society for the Blind Bahawalpur, PDF Malakand, Vislwes Welfare Organization Karachi, Madrsa Husainia Taleem-ul-Quran Khairpur, Mazoor Welfare Association of the Blind Jacobabad, PAB Nosharo Feroz, Ghotki Disability Forum, Azad Kashmir Association of the Blind Mirpur, Pakistan Eye Bank Society Dera Ghazi Khan, All Special Persons Welfare Association Khairpur, PAB Nawabshah, PAB Batagram, PAB Mansehra, PAB Sawabi, Khidmat-e-Mazooran Swabi, Baluchistan Blind Relief Association, Madrsa Hifzul Quran Muhammadia Khairpur, and PAB Karachi District.
To remove the ill approaches and misunderstandings and to create better understandings about the capabilities,, potentialities need and problems of the disabled persons, The following programs were organized on different occasions like Seerat-un-NABI (P.B.U.H) White Cane Safety Day the International Day of the Blind, International Day of the Disabled Persons, Independence Day of Pakistan, Yomay Pakistan, observance of New Muslim year a message specification in all walks of life to defend basic rights and moral values with reference disabled persons as well.
Regarding the introduction and promotion of modern technology for the disabled persons the following programs were organized: Technology Seminar in Mirpur Azad Kashmir which was, including disabled representatives the two senior directors and two research scholar respectively from State Bank of Pakistan and Hamdard University Karachi also grace the occasion by their valuable expression, Technology Demonstration in Ministry of Special Education Punjab Lahore and Ministry of CADD in Islamabad. Under the head of capacity building with collaboration and financial cooperation of Ministry of sports and youth affairs Sindh a two days All Sindh Disabled youth workshop organized at Shah Abdul Lateef University Khairpur with a special courtesy of Vice Chancellor and management of the University.
The Chairman PDF, other office Bearers and delegates of PDF attended the national and international events including participation in conference of International Union of Braille Quran Services at Istanbul, Turkey and participation of disabled Women in international cooking competition in Istanbul Turkey by winning the special prize.
Ninety three deserving disabled persons and children were supported through the courtesy and financial cooperation of Sindh Zakat Fund/Council. Under the program of advocacy, including other issues the authorities of PDF paid serious attention and effective efforts to remove the hindrances and ambiguities from the admissive facilities like concession for blind with guide in Railway Journey, Opening and operating banks account with other facilities for the blind and life time NADRA Card for the Disabled persons and with easy approach with cue observation. And duty free car for disabled persons Efforts to simplify the procedure to avail the facility of duty free car, the authorities of PDF have been regularly having meetings with the concerned Ministry Of Commerce.
Al-Hamdolillah all above stated efforts and activities, inspite of limitations and difficulties, were only possible due to the God blessings and off-coerce result oriented cooperation of our well wishers amongst leading financial institutions and in the society.
