Three Days Training and Repairing Workshop on Braille Embosser organized by Pakistan disabled foundation
At PDF Quaide- Azam Academy in Karachi.
From 18th to 20th November 2020
As per agenda of the PDF to uplift and upgrade the disabled community on technology base modern age education, training and rehabilitation and to facilitate the institutions and individuals already engaged in the field concerned, a three days comprehensive course was organized by Pakistan disabled foundation in collaboration with index Braille Sweden at PDF qaid-azam academy from 18th to 20th November 2020. The chief organizer of the course Prof. shakila Yasmin in charge of the technology cell of PDF inaugurated the course Mr. Waqar Younus of BRFP served as the coordinator while Mr. Uzair Saeed of XcessPak served the workshop as the course conductor. The participants from Govt. Special Education Complex, Rangers Special Children School, Ida-Rieu School for Blinds and Deaf, Benai, BRFP, Pakistan Disabled Foundation and National Book Foundation took part in the training. The training was comprised of theory and practical.
By presiding over the inaugural ceremony chairman PDF Shahid Memon welcome the guest and participants and highlighted the importance of the program the light of the full time agenda of the Pakistan disabled foundation. The concluding ceremony on Friday evening of 20th November 2020 was graced by Dr. Shahida Sajjad Vice Chancellor of Malir University who highly appreciated the importance of the technology towards the modern age training, education and rehabilitation of the disabled community. She also appreciated the efforts of the PDF for the promotion of the disabled community on scientific lines. She also awarded the certificates amongst the participants. Dr. Badar Sami from Department of Computer Sciences of Karachi University also graced the occasion as an honored guest by his physical presence and experience based valuable expression, prior to that Prof. Shakila Yasmin welcome the participants and summarize the highlights of the course. Finally participants enjoyed the farewell dinner.
